Abraham ordered to stand trial
Nathaniel Abraham, who was 11 when he shot a man to death in Pontiac, was ordered this morning to stand trial on drug delivery charges.
Abraham, 22, was released from state juveline custody in January 2007 after reaching the age of 21, the mandatory release date for juveline offenders.
Today, 50th District Judge Michael Martinez ordered Abraham to stand trial on charges stemming from his May 30 arrest in Pontiac. According to police and prosecutors, Abraham had more than 250 Ecstasy pills.
He could face up to 20 years in prison on the drug charges.
Abraham avoided a lengthy prison sentence after being convicted of second-degree murder in the 1997 shooting death of Ronnie Greene Jr., 18, when a judge sentenced Abraham as a juvenile and not an adult.

Man who killed at 11 back in court on drug case
PONTIAC, Mich. (AP) — Oakland County prosecutors say police will testify about the arrest of Nathaniel Abraham on drug charges 15 months after he was released for a murder he committed when he was 11.
Abraham’s preliminary examination will be held Wednesday morning at 50th District Court in Pontiac. The 22-year-old was arrested May 30 on drug possession charges at a gas station, and police have examined video from the scene.
Detroit attorney Byron Pitts is representing Abraham after his first attorney quit, citing a breakdown in their relationship. A message seeking comment was left Tuesday afternoon for Pitts.
Abraham was convicted of second-degree murder for killing 18-year-old Ronnie Greene of Pontiac in 1997 and finished serving a juvenile sentence in January 2007.
