Michigan Jewish Sports Foundation Celebrates 25 Years

Location: Oakland County
Date: Monday, November 2, 2009 - 6:00 PM

The Michigan Jewish Sports Foundation (MJSF) will celebrate 25 years of service and commitment to the community on Monday, November 2, 2009, at 6:00 p.m., at the Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit, in West Bloomfield.

The celebration will begin in the Hall of Fame, where 25 years of plaques of notable Jewish athletes are hung, including Hank Greenberg, Bill Davidson, Aaron Krickstein, and Don Shane to name just a few, as well as those(regardless of religious denomination) in the community who have made a difference in the lives of others. Cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and dinner, silent auction, and commemorative program will follow as the Class of 2009 is inducted and takes their place in MJSF Hall of Fame history.

Proceeds from the Gala will benefit The Bear Hug Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides summer camp experiences for underprivileged, at-risk and special needs children; Camp KAT - Kids All Together, a Jewish Community Center initiative that provides support to children with special needs so they can be fully included in Center programming; and the MJSF Hall of Fame.

Sponsorships, tribute/program ads, and tickets can be purchased by contacting David Blatt online at www.michiganjewishsports.org or at 248.592.9323. The MJSF is also accepting donated items for the silent auction.
