The Clinton Township Area Optimist Club presents its annual TASTEFEST & REINDEER GAMES. Formerly known as the "Bidz for Kidz Tastefest and Auction", the event has drawn as many as 600 participants. This event is being hosted at the Mirage Banquet Hall, located at 16980 18 Mile Road, in Clinton Township, MI. (Just East of the Garfield Road and 18 Mile Road intersection). The date for this event is November 6, 2009 from 6:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M.
The Tastefest part of the evening features 16 of the better known restaurants in the Macomb County Area, (see list), competing for the coveted plaque which declares "Best Overall" food. The Reindeer Games will pit reindeer dressed in the garb of their sponsoring company or individual sponsors, against each other in a race to the finish. Businesses will decorate their sponsored reindeer for the race day event, and are competing for various prizes: Including "Best Dressed Reindeer" and of course, the "Fastest Reindeer" which will be determined by the overall winner of the races. There are 16 reindeer entered as of this writing.
Entertainment for the evening will include Elvis Kelly, a quintessential Elvis Presley impersonator, and Michael Carluccio, one of the premier "Rat Pack" impersonators.
