Cranbrook House Unveils New Tour Series
Theme tours introduce new stories for the winter/spring season
Bloomfield Hills, MI - For the first time, the oldest manor home in metro-Detroit will open its doors for four unique tours during its traditionally closed seasons. Cranbrook House will offer four themed tours between February and May. Guests will be presented with recent discoveries and rarely seen treasures that provide new stories of the house and those who lived there. Visitors will journey to the second floor of the home for an exclusive peek into Ellen Booth's former bedroom suite.
'From There to Eternity: The Love Story of George & Ellen Booth'
February 9th or 14th at 11 a.m.
Experience the romance that blossomed between the Cranbrook founders and spanned more than sixty years: The recently restored wedding gown of Ellen Booth will be on display, along with her wedding shoes and a love letter given to Ellen by George Booth on their wedding day.
Celebrating Women's History Month at Cranbrook House: 'Women in Art'
March 14th at 11 a.m.
Commemorate the role of women in the arts as we examine their contributions to the building of Cranbrook House.
'From Dust till Dawn'
April 18th at 11 a.m.
Travel back in time and join the staff of Cranbrook House for the day, as we explore the role of the "help."
'A Race Through Time'
May 2nd at 11 a.m.
Gear up for the Kentucky Derby as we enjoy the Booth family hat collection. Guests are encouraged to attend sporting their own Derby fashion.
Attendees should arrive at 10:45 a.m., tours will start promptly at 11 a.m. A box lunch will be served at 12:15 p.m., following the tour and presentation of the day's theme. Docents will be available during lunch to continue the tour's discussion. Admission for a single tour is $30 per person; all four tours can be purchased together for $100 per person.
