Date: Wednesday, January 16, 2013 - 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM
This class is an introduction to a unique form of art - the mandala. The term mandala comes from India. It signifies a sacred circle, which contains many hidden artistic expressions. The process of creating a mandala helps one to appreciate a deeper part of self and meaning in one's life. The art and the artist are one. Creativity is the loom in which the two become one.
The evening class will begin by learning about mandalas as an art form and how mandalas are created; the participants will then be guided in making two mandalas that evening. Colored pencils, oil pastels and paper are provided. Many past participants have been both surprised and pleased with the artistic process of making mandalas. This class may become a fountain of creative energy.
Fee: $35
Instructor: Joan Skolimowski has taught the art of making Mandalas for the past 15 years in various countries such as Sweden, Poland, Greece, India, and the United States. Participants have found new artistic expressions and meaning in making mandalas.
